Human Diastrophism Analysis

  1. Looking at all of the arguments that you made I would agree with most of them. As far as abstraction I would judge a few of them a bit differently such as panel 8. The way I understood it from Mc. Cloud was that a 3 would be more defined in specific features and the body structure. I would still count this as a 4 or maybe a 3.5. Other than that I believe that everything else is on point.

  2. For your argument, I definitely think the no text thing should be mentioned. For me, I think having no text throughout the panels added to the overall suspense of the comic. From panel to panel we are left to wonder what the heck both people are going to do next. I thought it also added to the characters anger... Both are thoughts!

  3. A lot of your commentary is definitely spot on. Agreeing with Haley's comment, I definitely think you could take the fact that there is no text and make an argument discussing the fact that the lack of text emphasizes the tense moment between the two characters. With the mention of the clenched fist and the way the lines were drawn, you could make an argument stating that the author created a lack of words to emphasize the anger within and abruptness of this meeting.
