You have a good argument! You should also consider the way in which Daisy stares at Jay and other members of the cast because she is conflicted on what she feels and on what she truly wants.
I think your analysis is really interesting. The scene changed entirely after replaced him. I wonder why Nick stare them at inside the house because if I were him, I would hide myself behind a door or something in order not to be noticed by Jay and Daisy.
I think your argument is great so far! I think you are correct in pointing out that if you replace Nick with a shark it looks like innocent dancing and that with Nick, you get a since that something isn't right with the 2 being together. You could also argue that Nick is jealous of the two being together and isn't just worried that him hooking them up is taboo.
