Annotated Bibliography: 1938 Who Goes There adapted as 1982 The Thing
Sources by Kaitlin Gomez
Abstract
These
articles and websites will be used to analyze the adaptation for the book, Who Goes There written by John Campbell,
and the movie The Thing, produced by David
Foster. Gomel gives insight to the ideological tendencies that are incorporated
in Who Goes There while Guerrero
brings in a different view to the aliens mentioned in the 1982 film. He argues
that the aliens are a representation of AIDS during the time frame of the movie
and the book. Leane can be used as a reference for how Who Goes There was interpreted in the beginning, giving a base to
move from. IMDB and Wikipedia can be used for information gathering, or by
looking through the sources so it can be used accurately.
