The Lion King Outline

The Lion king Outline
Intro:
The kind of impact a “mega-hit” movie such as The Lion King has is incredible, especially when considering that the film was recreated as live-action. Hi, I am Max Schaar, I will be discussing some points of contrast from the 1994 film and the 2019 film.
Body:
·     Between both movies the differing technology used in the production of the film would be considered primarily effective, especially when considering how the film transitions from animated to life-like.
·     In the 1994 film, animations are simple and use basic colors scheme. The movie parallels traditional cartoons because there is a limited amount of realism.
·     Animation vs. Photorealistic CGI Technologies.
·     1994 film awards: Kids’ Choice Award for Favorite Movie, Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture. 2019 awards won: TBD/nominee for favorite movie and favorite family movie.
·     Voice recording: The Lion King (2019) is different from typical animated films in that Seth Rogen and Billy Eichner recorded most of their dialogue simultaneously. This is very rare in the film industry!!!
·     The production team combined VR movements with camera technology in order to film the movie in a VR-simulated environment in the 2019 film. In the older film, facial-capturing technologies were used to capture character reactions.
·     Run times:
o  1h 28m (1994) vs. 1h 58m (2019)
·     Level of success:
o  1994: Production Budget:$79,300,000 Worldwide Box Office:$986,214,868
o  2019: Production Budget:$260,000,000 Worldwide Box Office:$1,640,981,700
Social History:
·     The Lion King remake is the biggest animated earner ever, but Disney claims it isn’t.
·     Jon Favreau’s remake of the original 1994 film, “The Lion king” generated $986 million worldwide.
·     Disney refuses to recognize their remake as the biggest animated film ever.
·     Disney considers The Lion King a live-action film instead of animated.
·     Animation is going out of style for the most part, people are more interested in CGI.
·      Jon Favreau mentions that since there are no actual animals being used and no real camera for recording performance then it is misleading by calling it animated.
Conclusion:
While Disney remains in being a force to be reckoned with, it can be said that Disney’s trend of bringing back movies from the “Disney vault” is an effective approach to reel in a new audience while also brining back the existing one. Disney’s effort in creating movies goes to show the level of detail put into each film and how technology evolves alongside as well. Disney’s ability in reimagining already existing titles shows how the company has transformed itself into a dominant force in the industry.
