My thesis statement is going to talk about the semiotic of these movies and how we are aware that Lady is a sassy spoiled princess that gets whatever she wants. Until her family haves a baby and Lady must adapt to change. Then the Tramp being a dog that looks like he is from the streets with how dirty he looks and how he must fight for food and things he wants to survive.
This is a good thesis so far! Now with this in mind, does this change from the original movie? Does the live action movie add anything new to the table or is it simply a remake for the sake of it being remade? I would see if there are some underlying messages within the movie that might not have been present in the original like if there are any modern-day references that would not have been made in the original and how that has changed how we view the newer movie.
ReplyDeleteI think analyzing the characters of Lady and Tramp and their relationship is a good place to build from, but I think there needs to be more about how these movies change over time. What messages do the movies try to send, and how do they go about it? Are the characters and their relationships treated differently between the two pieces, and are there any changes in how they address class/status?
