Rockler WW Group 3
In this article Rockler interviews many different types of college students about the film The Lion King. Rockler attempts to show that the film shows messages about class, and race, though the students she interviews do not agree with this idea. The students felt that the messages of race and gender that were shown were not intended to be shown, and that it was being looked to deeply into. I feel that Rockler is probably right about their being messages shown about race and gender, but that there will be people like she said that dont see this, or just dont agree. The girls that she shows here dont agree that this happens in the movie, and that people are over interpreting and reading too much into these stories.
