There are many points of references in general that can be singled out particularly in order to show true distinctions made between the struggles America endured in the 1980's to then what is brought upon into the early 2000's. The main point I want to focalize my spotlight towards would be over the mere fact that government, in particularly America, has been viewed as corrupted but gives the perception that everything is "alright" when it is completely opposite, while taking advantage or mistreating the lower middle classes and of course the poor. But I will want to generate the distinction within the two music videos by how they explain that point with their particular visual media, though having the same exact lyrics, they apply to both historical settings. Yet, they are meant for different social histories/predicaments. They are done particularly in their own genre that will only convey the message needed for the context that their particular song and video is made to give platform.
Essential takeaway/base of thesis: Both music videos are created to construct a message to both government and society to present the corruption in the given time, but only are done specifically with specific kind of visual content as well as musical genre that persuades given their point of timeline.
