Another thing that could be pointed out is the colors used in panels 5 and 6. In panel 5 the background color changes and since it is not the same color as the trees makes it seem that they went to somewhere different or they at least they wished they were somewhere different. Then moving to panel 6 when Grace is the main focus of the panel. I think the color kind of resembles what is going on in her mind. She is having an internal battling of want to stay with Mia(the color part) and the she also needs to go home (the black). Maybe you thesis can reflect how when the character is having an internal battle or thought the color changes to whatever they might be feeling.
