In these panels currently Mia and Grace are in detention. Their friendship is still developing at this point and Grace does not trust Mia very well quite yet. Some of the slides are horizontally stretched to emphasize the time going by very slow. I guess in some of the awkward situations that Mia finds herself in with Grace helps propel the story forward. I guess the thesis could be that sometimes friendships and even relationships can develop in very weird situations.
