For the final project, I will be showing my focus group the movie Sixteen Candles. My focus group will consist of 2-3 people from the class, as well as 4-5 people from outside of the class, most likely other students that go here. The subject I would like to focus on is rape culture and how we have, in a way, normalized it. Rape is something that is usually not talked about very much in society, but is something that needs much more attention. While the movie is a comedy/romance and fits that genre well, there are also many controversial scenes throughout its duration that I did not notice until I re-watched it.
