 JoJo's Bizzare Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable

Manga (1992-1995) Anime (2016)


Genre:

The genres for both the original and the adaptation are Adventure, Fantasy, Supernatural and Shonen. The key difference in genre between both lies within it's relase method, the original was a Japanese manga, which is basically a Comicbook, whilst the adaptation is a Japanese anime, which is basically an animated show. These sources help to gain insight on the differences between the show's manga and an anime adaptations, as well as an understanding of what Manga and Anime are.

Social History:

The original manga was written weekly for Shonen Jump from 1992 to 1995. Meanwhile the anime adaptation was created by David Productions, in 2016. Both pieces were produced in vastly different social contexts. The following sources give insight into the character designs.

Apparatus:

The difference in apparatus between the original manga and the anime adaptation, is that the original was published as a weekly manga in a magazine called Shonen Jump, whilst the adaptation was a weekly anime that ran for 39 episodes, created by David Productions.
