Creed - Final Round (1080p) - YouTube

This is the Final fight scene from the movie Creed, this is where Adonis Creed and "Pretty" Ricky Conlan fight it out to see who will be the undisputed champ of boxing with this fight. Its a back and forth fight throughout the entirety of the fight, with each player taking blows you can feel the excitement and climax of the fight start to build up as you near the end of it.

Focal depth: For a majority of the fight you see a Medium shot while they are doing the fighting. There are a few scenes it cuts to where they have ended the round and they are both sitting in there respective chairs in there corners which is shot in a medium close up.

Angle: Through most of the fight you get a eye level view of the fight, there are some scenes, like when Creed gets knocked down that you get a high angle in some parts of it, but for the majority you are seeing a eye level angle.

Movement: The movement you get in this final fight scene is a crane/drone, you see this as the camera is constantly moving throughout the fight as you are seeing every single angle of the fight as it does 360 degree turns to see the fight from every perspective. You could also say that there is some Crab/Truck because the camera man is stationary in some parts of the fight while the camera is moving horizontally.

Plane: Foreground I would say would be the two fighters in the center of the ring. Then I would say the ring itself would be the mid-ground as its right behind them. Finally for background I would say the seats with all the people/ stands because thats what you see behind the ring.

Space: Onscreen would be the two fighters, then I think offscreen would be Adonis's mother and girlfriend because you hear and know that they are there but they are only flashed in a scene or two.

Lighting: I think that this final scene had a more low contrast/high key lighting to it because it had its traditional Hollywood lights as it was bright right on where the fighters were in the ring.

Photography: I think this was shot with a wide angle because, it had multiple planes in the shot as you could see the fighters, then the ring and the people surrounding it, and then the stands in the back and the people watching.

Exposure: I think there was an extreme exposure because of how bright the lights are in the fight scene it makes it so that you are completely focused on them and what is happening.

Sound: Onscreen is the two fighters making the punches, and then the offscreen noise would be the fighting music playing in the background and the fans cheering.

  1. An idea for your thesis on your film segment could be how through had work and dedication, a person can do great things and with this they can rise up to any challenge and conquer the impossible

  2. An idea for your thesis could be how the type of angle that is used during the fight scene can have an impact on viewer emotional connectivity. When watching a fight far off in the stands, you feel excited and pumped for the match. However, when watching on a tv with up close shots of these hard blows, maybe the viewers tend to humanize then or care for the results more because they can feel the pain better.
