lady and the tramp

These two movies definetely have a significant large age gap present. Dating back to the 1955 release, to now, the world was very different. Because of that, the film makers had to adjust to the different eras of time. The first topic being race. You can easily tell by his race that "Scott" is scottish. Not to menation his breed gives it away as well as his lingo. Sterotypes also play a factor in the film which ties into racism. This explains how the world would portray views based upon cultural sterotypes. The film did this with asians...since thw bombing of pearl harbor recently occured. Fast forward to today's world. Much of this has depleted as we have matured as a whole in the recent years. This goes from the social history, to the adjustment the filmmakers needed to make, and even the ideology.

  1. I like your observation on how the new movie does a good job of being culturally fluent, without being stereotypical to the point of being offensive. A lot of times when we're watching animated or animal-focused movies we don't pick up on the little things they threw in there that may have been racial, sexist, or creepy till we are older. So I like your choice of the film to see what the old movie did wrong and how they fixed that in the newer version.

  2. The observation of race was very different you can develop it into how Disney movies or cartoons in general. You can develop this further to talk about how cartoons have certain racist stereotypes or racism in cartoons in general
