My thesis will focus on the time these IT movies were out and how it was different from the first one coming out in the 1990s to 2017/2019 and how popular these types of genre movies were at the time. I will also talk about the difference each clown is mostly from their appearance, and how the order of the movies was played differently at since one movie is going back and forth from kids to adults while the other is focusing on one and then the next movie is them as adults.

  1. Is there a reason as to why the clowns look/behave differently in the two films that connect to society? Same question to the structure of the movies: why are they different and is it at all societal? Another interesting element is the gayness of Bill in the second franchise, and showcase of a gay couple in IT 2. Stuff like that and shifts in character, message, techniques, interactions, and tropes are important here.
