The Longest Yard 1974 & 2005

 

The Longest Yard is a 2005 American sports comedy film and a remake of the 1974 film of the same name Adam Sandler plays the protagonist Paul Crewe a disgraced former professional quarterback or the Pittsburgh Steelers who is forced to a form a team from the prion inmates to play football against their guard. Burt Reynolds who played Sandler role in the original co-stars as Nate Scarborough the inmates coach. Chris Rock plays Crewe friend, known as caretaker. The cast includes James Cromwell Nelly , William Fichtner and several former  and current professional athletes such Terry Crews, Michael Irvin,Brian Bosworth Bill Romanowski Bill Goldberg Bob Sapp Kevin Nash Stone Cold Steve Austin and Dalip The Great Khali Singh Rana The Film was produced by MTV films and Happy Madison Productions and distributed by Paramount Pictures and Columbia Pictures and released on May 27,2005

There Is aa big difference between the two because in the 2005 version it was more superstars in the movie basically making the movie stand out a lot more as in the 1974 version it was pretty much way back in the day because the producers and camera work wasn’t as good as it is now and they had only one superstar to let be the main character but in the 2005 version the star an Adam had more perks them but in the movie but the movies have basically the same story line .

  1. I have personally have not seen either the original version or the remake of this movie. However, I feel that it should be interesting because it is an Adam Sandler movie.I would want to know if the remake is more of a comedy because of the roles that Adam Sandler often plays. Also how did the addition of more popular celebrities as characters in this movie make it stand out.
