Romance
This article goes in an analyzes the romance part of the
first Karate kid and points out good aspects of this film that shows the romantic
story of a new kid that likes a rich girl who is dating a bully Johnny Lawrence.
This starts a feud between the two as they both begin to fight for the girl and
the article points out the film does a very good job of embracing cliches of a
poor kid falling in love with the rich girl and the popular one. This article shows
how the first film emphasizes the romantic part of the movie and can be a
little cliché but does it in a very good way compared to the adaptation of the
film.

Karate Kid (1984)
In this article the creator writes about how the first
Karate Kid movie was a “game changer” in these types of movies. It goes on and compares
the movie to previous martial arts movies and why this film was ahead of its
time and adding new renovations to the movie world. This movie would go on and create
a boom for Karate because of the kids seeing this movie and wanting to learn
the same moves to become just as cool as Daniel LaRusso. This movie would add
many improvements to the martial arts world because of the ability to make it a
family movie but still make it perfect for teenagers because they could relate
what the main character would have to go through.

Karate Kid (2010)
This article explains the differences between the original movie
and the adaptation of the movie as it is very similar but has changes because
of the time period that it was made in compared to the original. It explains how
the first one is dominated by a white cast in the state of California while the
adaptation is in China and how the change of a completely new culture can be challenging.
It also explains hints at the main difference of the adaptation is the main character
is not white but is played by Jayden Smith who is African American and getting to
the audience that feel like white people rule the movie screen in the original
movie.
