Hill” (1999). The article also explains how American McGee’s Alice is a

(2000)

This article explains how American McGee’s
Alice was released during a time where “edgy gothic elements were a lot more popular
in mainstream US culture” (Pekoeblaze, 2022). It was during the
early 2000’s and late 2000’s that horror rpg games were becoming popular along with
other popular media at the time like metal and punk music. “The game was released
during a brief time when the mainstream PC games industry in US was a lot more
heavily focused on games as a serious high-brow artform than it is these days” (Pekoeblaze,
2022). This is probably why American McGee’s Alice was so successful at the
time it was released.

Disney’s Alice in
Wonderland (1951)

This article explains how the movie was born
and the process in how Disney began its journey in making the film. During the
1930s everyone was wanting to make an adaption of Lewis Corroll’s “Alice’s adventures
in Wonderland”. Before Disney had the idea of making a live action and animation
film on “Alice in Wonderland” but the project was postponed due to “Paramount’s
1933 live-action adaptation” (Alice, 2021). It was later in 1938 that Walt Hired
storyboard artists “Al Perkins and art director David S. Hall to develop the story
and concept art for an all-animated film” (Alice, 2021). They had to scratch this
due to WWII and because Perkin’s ideas were too grotesque and dark. After the
film was made and released audiences were disappointed and felt that the movie
did not capture the intellect humor of Lewis Corroll’s story. Walt was also disappointed
in the film and blamed the fact that the movie failed due to “lack of heart”.

in theaters only to be released again in 1974. It was more popular when released in the 1970s
due to the “Drug” culture fandom at the time. It was also released again in
1981 only to become one of the biggest cult classics in animation medium. It became
one of the most popular Disney films of all time. (Wiki, n.d.).
