  1. Hi Selah! You have a lot of great material to build up an argument for your presentation. It was interesting to see how the 1994 version of "Little Women" gave Jo her dream of becoming a writer and a teacher. I beileve this was done based on what you said the third wave feminism. At the time women were fighting for equality so if the film were to show Jo married off to a man it wouldn't have satified the majority of women at the time. In fact it almost would have been as if the movie wasn't supporting women at all if it had ended with a wedding. But in the 2019 film we see a big shift from this idea, I read an article to get a little more insight on this. It's titled "How Little Women Ending differs from the book", it was a really interesting read. Basically the director of the film felt pressured to give Jo her happliy ever after by having her get married in the end. She felt if this didn't happen in the film the movie would not have been sucessful at all. This is interesting regarding the fact that women back then were fighting for equal rights and careers. Now women are wanting marriage to be the happy ending every women should recieve. It's no longer about persuing a career that will make them happy its finding a man. You have a very interesting text to look at and I think you have a lot of great points. In your presentation try to incorperate the major difference between what women wanted in the 90s campared to what they wanted in 2019. Good luck in making your final presentation!

  2. The descriptions of the main focus and main idea for both films are clear and provide a good overview of the central themes. However, it might be helpful to mention the similarities and differences in how Jo's love for writing and teaching (1994) and her authoring career (2019) are portrayed in the two films. This would enhance the comparison. Both movies fit neatly into their respective genres, however it could be useful to talk about how each movie's genre selection affects how its plot and ideas are portrayed. For instance, how does the audience's engagement with the story differ depending on whether they choose to see a classic period drama from 1994 or a modern, inventive coming-of-age movie from 2019? Both movies' social histories have been thoroughly examined. However, it may be intriguing to incorporate more particular examples from each movie that represent modern feminism in 2019 and the third-wave feminism of the 1990s (1994). Overall, the analysis is well-structured and thoughtful, but adding specific examples from the films and directly comparing them would enhance the depth and clarity of the analysis.
