Rockler Article: Jennifer p.15

Rockler accurately presents the idea that many students believed that the "hidden" messages in the movie are so deeply embedded, that one would have to be looking for them in the first place in order to find them. This idea of concrete messages of the transmission paradigm were mostly missed by nearly all the students. They saw it where if it wasn't obvious or clearly stated, it must not have been there to begin with. However, Jennifer argued that the negative messages that were "subliminal" in the film had the ability to implant or embed themselves into the minds of anyone watching it, regardless of age. This perhaps could be one of the main arguments for why all these major issues were brought up in a Disney movie, to send subliminal messages about these issues and expose them to the children, so that perhaps they would subconsciously take on the beliefs presented in the film.
